Specific room assignment info will be on the Housing (HDH) web page beginning mid/late August and you will receive a Welcome and Move-In guide from our office to your UCSD email account.
- There are double rooms and single rooms in the Thurgood Marshall Residence Halls. We strive to accommodate everyone with their first preference of room type, so we hope that you are as excited as we are to be living in our vibrant on-campus communities regardless of your room type.
Assignments are to a specific bed spaces: Triples, Doubles, Singles, lower bunk, top bunk, lofted bed

Room Layout

Room Types and Layouts

*These layouts and rooms are subject to change depending on the spaces.

Typical Triple Room

Triple rooms are appropriately furnished with a bed and desk for each student in the room; however, configurations vary by college and facility.

Your bedspace is the letter after your room number…i.e TM-102a.

If you are assigned to the “a” bedspace, your bed is the lower bunk
If you are assigned to the “b” bedspace, your bed is the upper bunk
If you are assigned to the “c” bedspace, your bed is the loft

Typical Double Room

Double rooms are about 190 SF, on average. Double rooms are offered in apartments and residence halls, depending on the particular facility. Double rooms are set up for two students.

Your bedspace is the letter after your room number…i.e TM-102a.

If you are assigned to the “a” bedspace, your bed is on the left as you enter the room
If you are assigned to the “b” bedspace, your bed is on the right as you enter the room

Typical Single Room

Single rooms are about 100 SF, on average. Single rooms are offered at most Colleges (although subject to availability).
